Loop 1604 North Expansion Project

Loop 1604 North Expansion Project

The Loop 1604 North Expansion Project is making significant strides toward enhancing San Antonio’s transportation infrastructure. Spanning approximately 23 miles from SH 16 (Bandera Rd.) to I-35, this project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve safety for daily commuters. The expansion includes transforming existing facilities to 2-3 main lanes in each direction, alongside typical 2-lane frontage roads and a cloverleaf interchange at I-10. Divided into several segments, the project has an estimated cost ranging from $148 million to $418 million per segment, with completion dates stretching from 2025 to 2027. For more detailed information on each segment’s progress, costs, and schedules, stakeholders are encouraged to visit Loop1604North.com and stay informed by subscribing to email updates or following @TxDOTSanAntonio on social media.
